How Can My Bidders Pay Online in Wavebid?

To allow bidders to pay online via Wavebid, there are 4 steps that must be taken prior to emailing invoices to bidders.

  1. Create an account with one of Wavebid's integrated Payment Gateways and link the two accounts. For more information, see Payment Gateways.
  2. Set the Payment Gateway as the default Payment Gateway at the company level by navigating to My Links > Company > Profile > Preferences >Invoice. For more information, see Payment Gateways.
    • This action will impact future auctions. For auctions that have already been created, the default payment gateway may also need to be set at the auction level by navigating to the event and then selecting Auction > Edit Settings > Accounting. For more information, see Payment Gateways.
  3. Turn on the Pay Now button by navigating to My Links > Company > Profile > Preferences >Invoice. For more information, see Emailing Invoices.
  4. Select a default Invoice Email Template for the auction by navigating to the event and then selecting Auction > Edit Settings > Invoices. For more information, see Emailing Invoices.
    • If desired, changes can be made to the default Invoice Email Template at the company level. However, the "Invoice URL" Variable must be added to the body of the Template in order for the "Pay Now" button to work. For more information, see Emailing Invoices.
    • A default Invoice Email Template can also be selected at the company level. If a template is selected at the company level, it will not need to be selected at the auction level for each event. Selected a company level Invoice Email Template will only impact events that have not been created yet. Events that have already been created will have to have the Invoice Email Template set at the auction level. For more information, see Emailing Invoices.

Once these steps have been taken, invoices can be emailed to winning bidders via Wavebid. Bidders will receive an email containing a link to an online version of the invoice with a large Pay Now button at the top. Clicking that Pay Now button will open a new window where payment details can be entered. The payment fields are linked directly to the Payment Gateway, not to Wavebid. Wavebid does not retain any credit card information.

For more information on how bidders can pay online, see Bidder Initiated Payments.
