Wavebid Plugin: Installing the Wavebid Plugin

This article will describe how to install a new Wavebid Plugin to an existing Wordpress website.

Verify Permalink Settings

Currently, the Wavebid Plugin will only work if the permalink setting for WordPress is set to "Post name".

Ensure this setting is selected by logging into WordPress Admin and clicking on the Settings menu option on the left side of the page; then clicking on Permalinks.

Speak to a developer first about any risks involved with changing the permalink structure.

Install the Wavebid Plugin

To install the Wavebid Plugin, please locate your email from Wavebid Support that contains directions on accessing the zip archive for the installation. 

1. Save the zip archive for the Wavebid Plugin to your computer.
2. In WordPress Admin, click on the Plugins menu option on the left side of the page and then select Add New.                                                           
3. On the Add Plugins page, click on the Upload Plugin button.
4. Select the Wavebid Plugin archive on your computer to upload and install it.

5. Once installed, the Wavebid Plugin will need to be activated. Navigate to the Plugins menu option on the left side of the page in WordPress Admin and select Installed Plugins.
6. Click on the Activate link under the Wavebid Plugin.

 

Configure the Wavebid Plugin

1. In WordPress Admin, click on the Settings menu option on the left side of the page and then select Wavebid Plugin.                                                                                         
2. Complete the following fields under the General tab:
   • Enter the API Client ID.
   • Enter the API Client Secret.
   • Select Live from the Plugin Mode drop-down.
   • Click the Save Changes button.
3. Complete the following fields under the Features tab:
   • Select Wavebid from the Package drop-down.
   • Ensure Timed Auto-Syncing is Off.
   • Ensure Granular Lot Meta is Off.
   • The remaining Features settings can be left as the defaults.
   • Click the Save Changes button.
4. No changes should be made to the fields under the Filters tab.

 

Install & Setup the FacetWP Plugin

The FacetWP plugin is a companion plugin that supports the Wavebid plugin.

 

Install the FacetWP Plugin

1. Save the zip archive for the FacetWP Plugin to your computer.
2. In WordPress Admin, click on the Plugins menu option on the left side of the page and then select Add New.
3. On the Add Plugins page, click on the Upload Plugin button.
4. Select the FacetWP Plugin archive on your computer to upload and install it.

Activate the FacetWP Plugin

1. Once installed, the FacetWP Plugin will need to be activated. Navigate to the Plugins menu option on the left side of the page in WordPress Admin and select Installed Plugins.
2. Click on the Activate link under the FacetWP Plugin.

 

Setup the FacetWP Plugin

1. Click on the Settings menu option on the left side of the page and then select FacetWP Plugin.
2. On the FacetWP settings page, click on the Settings at the top of the page, then click on Import/Export.
3. Paste the import code into the Import field.
4. Check the Overwrite existing items? checkbox.
5. Click the Import button.
